About Montevallo
The offense continues its hot stretch as they now have had double-digit hits in 11 out of their last 12 games played which has brought up their team batting average to a scorching hot .289. McGwire Turner and Connor Crowson have been two of the most reliable bats in Division II as they have played in every game and been on base in every game. Crowson leads the conference with 42 hits and nine home runs while Turner is tied for eighth with 32 hits and has the second on base percentage on the team at .430.

On the bump, the Falcons have been hit around the past two games as they've allowed 13 earned runs in game three against Alabama-Huntsville and nine earned runs against Spring Hill on Tuesday. The two blips on the radar has brought the team ERA up to 5.70. Adiel Melendez continued to put together a dominant second season as a Falcon as he is seventh in the Gulf South with an ERA of 2.65 and the sixth lowest opponent batting average at .217. Melendez is seeking his fourth consecutive game of at least seven innings pitched. Montevallo will give Melendez the ball in game one, Logan Medsker the start in game two and round out the rotation with Gino Cozzi on Sunday.

The Falcons did not play West Alabama in a series last season, but was able to handle the Tiger in a midweek on April 16 as UM won 13-8. Montevallo trails UWA in the all-time series history 37-39.

Scouting West Alabama
The Tigers will come into the weekend with a 14-10 record and are currently ahead of the Falcons in the GSC standings at 8-4. They dropped their previous conference series against Valdosta State where the Tigers won game one of the series. VSU took the series by winning the final two games.

Bryant Quimby leads UWA on the bump as he has won four games for the Tigers this season. Quimby has the fifth most innings pitched in the GSC at 34.1 as he's only allowed nine earned runs in 2025. As a pitching staff, they are fifth in the GSC with a 4.67 ERA, have allowed the fourth lowest number of earned runs (107) and have struck out the seventh most batters in the conference with 168.

UWA has the second lowest batting average as a team at .258. The team is tied for second behind Montevallo with 26 homers hit as Joe Watkins leads the Tigers with six. He is one of three Tigers with 20 runs driven in the season. They will look to jump start their offense as they have average under two runs a game in their previous three contests.
