MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The women's tennis team earned a strong 5-2 victory over Delta State on Thursday afternoon. The Falcons overcame a doubles deficit with a dominant singles performance to secure the win.

Delta State took the early lead by winning two of the three doubles matches. Montevallo's No. 1 duo of Greta Vagnini and Johanna Kullman delivered a commanding 6-2 victory, but Delta State clinched the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3.

Montevallo responded in singles play, winning four of the six matches. Klara Podskubkova battled through a three-set thriller at No. 1, coming out on top 6-4, 1-6, 7-6. Elena Ondobo delivered a dominant 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 2, while Johanna Kullman secured a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 4. Greta Vagnini added another straight-set victory, taking No. 5 singles 6-3, 6-0.

London Breedlove put the finishing touch on the Falcons' victory with a flawless 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles.

With the win, Montevallo continues its strong season and looks ahead to its next matchup.
