FLORENCE, Sc. - The Montevallo men's tennis team battled hard but came up short against Francis Marion, falling 2-5 at the Kassab Tennis Complex in Florence, SC.

Francis Marion claimed the doubles point after taking all three matches. The closest contest came at No. 1 doubles, where Dylan Kamel and Luiz Brandao fought to an 8-6 defeat against Martin Barbera and Miguel Maia.

In singles play, Montevallo secured two victories. Leonidas Lazarides mounted an impressive comeback at No. 4 singles, winning 3-6, 7-5, 6-4. Simon Luigs also picked up a win in a three-set battle at No. 6, rallying for a 4-6, 6-0, 10-6 triumph.

Despite their efforts, the Falcons were unable to overcome Francis Marion's strong play, as the Patriots claimed wins at the top three singles spots to seal the match. Montevallo will look to bounce back in their next match as they continue their season.
