AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Montevallo women's tennis team put up a tough fight but came up just short against Augusta, falling 3-4 in a close match at the Newman Tennis Center.

In doubles play, the Falcons secured wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots. Klara Podskubkova and Claire Jaramba dominated their match, winning 6-1, while Johanna Kullman and Latizia Bojara battled to a 7-6(2) victory. However, Augusta's No. 2 doubles team pulled through with a 5-7 win, helping the Falcons clinch the crucial doubles point.

Montevallo made a strong push in singles, picking up victories from Elena Ondobo at No. 2 (6-1, 6-1) and Claire Jaramba at No. 3 (6-3, 6-3). Podskubkova fought hard at No. 1 but fell in a tight battle (4-6, 7-9). The Jaguars secured wins at No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 singles to edge out the Falcons in the end.

Despite the loss, Montevallo showed resilience against a strong Augusta team. The Falcons will look to bounce back in their next match as they continue their season.
