About Montevallo
The Falcons offense has continued to heat up as they have now had 8 consecutive games with 10 or more hits. This has brought up the team batting average to .279 (5th in the GSC) and has the team tied for second in the conference with 180 hits this season. The Falcons have also cut down on their strikeouts as they've only struck out double-digit times in a game once in their last six contests.

Logan Harbin blasted his fourth home run of the season against Columbus State. Harbin is second on the team in home runs and is tied for fourth in the GSC. Evan Radford extended his hitting streak to seven games and now has 14 hits in those seven games. Radford is third on UM with a .342 batting average, a .548 slugging percentage and an on base percentage of .407. Connor Crowson and McGwire Turner continue to give opposing pitchers fits as they both have hitting streaks of double-digits. Crowson tallied his sixth game in a row with two or more hits while Turner has driven in eight RBI in his past 11 games.

Adiel Melendez turned in another quality outing in his previous start against Trevecca. The Montevallo southpaw tossed a career-high 7.1 innings and had his fourth consecutive game where he struck out five or more. For the first time in his career at Montevallo, Melendez did not issue a walk. Inside the GSC, he has the fifth lowest ERA, the third most innings pitched, tied for the seventh least number of hits allowed and the fourth lowest opposing batting average against.

Like Melendez, Gino Cozzi had his fourth outing this season where he's struck out five or more batters. He is quickly climbing Montevallo's program record for most strikeouts in a career as he is currently in 6th with 181 (six away from 5th). Cozzi is 9th in the GSC in ERA, 10th in strikeouts, tied for 6th for lowest number of earned runs and is 13th with a .265 opposing batting average.

Scouting Alabama-Huntsville
The Alabama-Huntsville Chargers come into this weekend on a six-game losing skid as they were swept by Lee and Valdosta State previously. In the Chargers last six games, they have allowed 13 or more runs in five times. They have averaged four runs on those contests.

Offensively, the Chargers have the lowest batting average in the Gulf South at .253 but are the third hardest team to strikeout with out 103 strikeouts in 474 at bats. Presley Walker leads the way with a .404 batting average, five doubles, three homers and seven RBI. Walker has seven hits in his last five games and is a perfect 6-for-6 in stolen base attempts this season.

On the mound, UAH has the highest ERA out of any pitching staff in the conference at 9.40. While the ERA is high, the strikeouts are also high as they punch out the third most in the conference with 144 strikeouts. Payton Lemons has had a great season for the Chargers out of the bullpen as he has seven appearances including five scoreless outings. Colin Patterson leads the staff with 22.2 innings pitched and has struck out five or more batters in his last four starts.
