MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo baseball team falls in the series finale against Alabama-Huntsville on Saturday, Mar. 8. With the loss, the Falcons fall to 12-10 and 6-6 in GSC play. The Chargers improve to 9-11 and 4-8 in conference play.
The Falcons were behind the eight-ball from the start as the Chargers scored a run with three consecutive singles to start the game. UAH would explode for six more runs in the innings as they totaled seven hits while the Falcons committed three errors in the inning. They would go up 8-0 in the second inning with a solo homer.
Zen Hiatt got the Falcons on the scoreboard with a two-strike single into left field to score
Evan Radford. Alabama-Huntsville responded with three runs in the top of the third with a double and a two-run homer.
Montevallo did a great job getting the runs bac in the bottom half of the third as
McGwire Turner singled up the middle to extended his hitting streak to 14 games.
Zen Hiatt would pick up his second and third RBI of the game with a single to right to score Turner and Harbin.
The Chargers ended any comeback attempt with an 11-run top of the fourth inning. Nine of UAH's 11 hits in the inning were singles. They hit a two-run homer in the seventh to extend their lead.
Zen Hiatt would drive in his fourth RBI of the day with a double down the right field line in the bottom of the seventh.

- Trey Felker pitched two innings where he did not allow an earned run.
- UAH set a season-high with 24 runs and 23 hits.
