MOBILE, Ala. – The Montevallo women's tennis team delivered a dominant performance on Sunday, securing a 7-0 sweep over Spring Hill College at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center.
The Falcons set the tone early, winning all three doubles matches convincingly. The No. 2 duo of Klara Podskubkova and Claire Jaramba set the pace with a swift 6-0 victory. At the No. 1 spot, Greta Vagnini and Johanna Kullman followed with a 6-1 win, while Erika Freire and Latizia Bojara closed out doubles play with a 6-2 triumph at No. 3.
In singles action, Montevallo continued its dominance, winning every match in straight sets. At the No. 1 position, Elena Ondobo shut out Claire Bosman, 6-0, 6-0. Claire Jaramba (No. 2) and Johanna Kullman (No. 3) each surrendered just one game en route to 6-1, 6-1, and 6-0, 6-0 victories, respectively. Vagnini (No. 4) and Freire (No. 6) also recorded shutout second sets in their wins. London Breedlove secured Montevallo's final point at No. 5 after her opponent retired in the second set.
With the dominant victory, Montevallo continues to build momentum heading into its next match. The Falcons will look to extend their winning form when they return to action next week.
