MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The Montevallo men's tennis team came up short against the Lee University Flames, falling 2-5 at home.
The Falcons showed promise in doubles play, winning two of three matches to secure the doubles point. Dylan Kamel and Luiz Brandao dominated at No. 1 doubles with a 6-2 victory, while Ryota Nakajima and Guilherme Gracioli edged out their opponents 7-5 at No. 3 doubles.
In singles action, Montevallo struggled to maintain momentum, with Lee taking five of the six matchups. The lone singles win for the Falcons came from Guilherme Gracioli at the No. 2 spot, where he battled through a three-set match to earn a 6-2, 2-6, 7-5 victory over Quin Groenendijk.
Despite the loss, Montevallo fought hard and will look to regroup in their next match.
