CLINTON, MS — The Montevallo men's tennis team dropped a tough 0-7 match to Mississippi College on Monday afternoon at the MC Tennis Complex.
Despite the final score, the Falcons showed some bright spots in doubles play. Simon Luigs and Paul Sobich picked up a 7-5 win at the No. 2 spot, giving Montevallo an early spark. However, Mississippi College secured wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to claim the overall doubles point.
In singles, Montevallo battled but couldn't break through. Sobich and Gracioli each fought hard at the top of the lineup, both falling 4-6, 4-6. Ryota Nakajima pushed his match at No. 5 to a decisive third-set tiebreak but came up just short, 8-10 in the end.
Montevallo looks to regroup after the loss and refocus for their upcoming senior day.
