About Montevallo
The Falcons put together their best week of the season as they went 3-1 against teams with winning records. UM defeated GSW in the midweek 20-13. They then took two out of three from the No. 12 ranked Statesmen. Montevallo has now beaten the top four teams in the GSC standings in their regular season series. (Delta State, Valdosta State, West Florida, Mississippi College)
Evan Radford had a heck of a week for the Falcons as he had eight base hits and 11 RBI. Radford posted a 4-for-4 day against GSW where he was on base six times including a homer and four RBI. In game two against DSU, Radford hit two three-run shots to lift the Falcons over the Statesmen. With three homers in the week, he now has an even 10 for the season and has 35 RBI, the second most on the team.
Jacob Pearl continues an impressive freshman campaign with three multi-hit games last week. In his last seven games, Pearl has 12 hits, seven runs scored, four doubles, four RBI and two home runs. He hit his third round tripper of the season against Delta State's Drake Fontenot in game one. Pearl now has homers against Fontenot and Tampa's Skylar Gonzalez, two of the top arms in Division II.
For the second time in program history, a Falcon has 10 saves in a season.
Garrett Sloan makes history as he earned the save in game two against Delta State. He is the first Falcon to reach that many saves since 2006 when Zach Andrews accomplished this feat. Sloan is two saves away from breaking the single-season record and he has moved back into first in all of Division II with his double-digit save total.
