McGee Named Conference Carolinas Winter Scholar-Athlete of the Year for Women's Swimming

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Conference Carolinas has released its 2024-25 Winter Scholar-Athletes of the Year Award for each winter sport with Montevallo's Keara McGee being selected for women's swimming.

McGee earns the honor after posting a 3.78 GPA in her mass communications courses. She became the first women's swimmer in Montevallo program history to make her way to Nationals. At the Division II National Championships, McGee swam a 55.95 in the 100 fly and a 51.68 in the 100 free.

To be considered for the award, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or higher. In addition, the nominees for the award must have been named all-conference in their sport and also chosen academic all-conference.
