GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Conference Carolinas released its 2025-26 Women's Swimming Preseason Coaches' Poll on Thursday, with Montevallo slated to finish third. Three Falcons were also named to the league's Players to Watch list.
Montevallo collected two first-place votes and totaled 25 points in the poll. UNC Pembroke was tabbed the preseason favorite with four first-place votes and 34 points, followed by Emmanuel in second with 31 points. Converse (22) and Barton (16) rounded out the top five.
The Falcons had three student-athletes named to the league's Players to Watch list: Keara McGee, Alexandria Morgan, and Vanina Loriedo. McGee, a native of St. Augustine, Fla., is the reigning Conference Carolinas champion in the 100-yard butterfly and the first women's swimmer in program history to qualify for the NCAA Championships. Morgan returns after being named Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year last season, while freshman Loriedo is poised to make an immediate impact in her debut campaign.
Montevallo opens its 2025-26 campaign on Oct. 11 at the Sewanee Relays in Tennessee.
