MONTEVALLO, ALA — The Montevallo women's tennis team delivered a dominant performance on Senior Day, sweeping Wallace State Community College 7-0 at the Tennis Court Complex on April 9.
The Falcons started strong in doubles, claiming all three matches in a convincing fashion. Greta Vagnini and Johanna Kullman led the charge at the No. 1 spot with a 6-1 win, while Erika Freire and Latizia Bojara matched the score at No. 2. London Breedlove and Ella De Jesus wrapped up doubles with another 6-1 victory at No. 3.
Montevallo's momentum carried into singles play, where the team didn't drop a set. Elena Ondobo opened with a commanding 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles. Kullman (6-1, 6-2), Vagnini (6-3, 6-4), Breedlove (6-0, 6-0), Freire (6-0, 6-0), and Bojara (6-1, 6-0) each secured straight-set wins to complete the sweep.
The match served as a fitting tribute to the team's seniors, who helped set the tone on a celebratory afternoon. With this victory, Montevallo continues building momentum to the final regular season match April 12.
