Eric Boutwell sits at seven-over (79) as the lone Falcon in the event.
Boutwell's opening round got out to a hot start with a birdie on the par-five first before the Russellville, Ala. native carded three-straight pars. The senior struggled over the next three holes to drop six shots and fall to five-over through seven. Boutwell gained a stroke back with a birdie on the par-three eighth to finish the front nine with a 39 (+4). Boutwell struggled to score on the back nine with three bogeys in the first four holes to slip to seven over through 13. Boutwell regained his momentum with three-consecutive pars before adding his third birdie on the 556-yard 17
th. Boutwell gave the stroke back with a bogey on the final hole of the round to finish T-95
th after day one with a total score of 79 (+7).
Boutwell's opening round saw the senior score 2.75 on the four par threes with a one-under score in the four par fives.
The senior will tee off round two at 11:10 a.m. on Friday, May 9.
