MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo volleyball team hits the road this weekend for the Pioneer Invitational in Greeneville, Tenn. The Falcons are set for a Friday doubleheader, opening with Tusculum at 11:00 a.m. CT before closing the day against Southern Wesleyan at 3:00 p.m. CT.
OFFICIAL SCHEDULE
Montevallo is looking to bounce back after its opening weekend at the Bahama House Classic in Daytona Beach. Freshman Mallory Hulsey shined in her debut, posting a team-best 28 kills across three matches, while Danielle Greene added 26 kills and 19.0 blocks to pace the Falcons at the net.
Tusculum (2-3) enters the weekend following a 3-0 setback to Lincoln Memorial on Tuesday. The Pioneers own a 1-1 mark against Gulf South Conference opponents this season after outlasting Auburn Montgomery, 3-2, in their opener before falling to Lee last Saturday. Jaida Alvin leads Tusculum with 50 kills, while Taylor Sanders has anchored the defense with 55 digs and eight service aces.
Southern Wesleyan (1-1) split its first two matches, dropping a contest to West Alabama before defeating Miles on Tuesday. The Warriors are led offensively by Kaylon Chapman with 26 kills, while Michaela Andress has made an all-around impact with 25 kills, 26 digs, and 3.0 blocks.

- Montevallo is 2-0 all-time against Tusculum with wins over the Pioneers in 2016 and 2018.
- In the previous matchup, the Falcons picked up a 3-1 win over Tusculum in Greeneville.
