SALISBURY, N.C. – Montevallo women's soccer dropped a road meeting with No. 19 Catawba, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon.
In her first start of her career,
Frida Larsson opened with a save in the fifth minute of action, but Catawba took an early lead with the icebreaker coming just six minutes into the game. In the 10
th minute,
Shadia Valenzuela fired the Falcons' first shot on goal of the day before adding a second just six minutes later. The game turned into a defensive battle for the next 20 minutes before
Morgan Goehring fired her first of six shots on the day in the 36
th minute. Without another shot on goal from either side, the game went to the half with Catawba leading 1-0.
The Falcons fired a total of five shots to start the second half with offensive pressure but couldn't put one on frame. Catawba extended its lead out to 2-0 in the 63
rd minute off a corner. Just four minutes later, Valenzuela made the Catawba keeper work with a shot on goal before Goehring added another pair of shots on target in the 70
th and the 77
th minutes. Catawba would find the final goal of the game with just nine minutes to play to put the game out of reach for the Falcons.

- Montevallo's offense couldn't find the back of the net despite a total of 23 shots on the day with six shots on goal while holding Catawba to just seven shots for the game.
- The Falcons won a total of 10 corners on the afternoon while Catawba was awarded just three.
- Morgan Goehring and Shadia Valenzuela led the Falcons' attack with six shots each while Valenzuela fired three on goal with two coming from Goehring.
