ROME, Ga. – The Montevallo wrestling team earned its eighth dual victory of the season Friday night, rolling past Shorter 44-5 to improve to 8-1 overall and 7-1 in Conference Carolinas action.
Barrett Bridgmon opened the night with a forfeit win at 125 pounds before NWCA No. 7 Cole Hunt delivered his 13th fall of the season, pinning Max Meredith at 133.
Kaden Brown followed with another forfeit at 141, and Matt Velasco picked up his first dual win of the season by pinning Ethan Ross in 1:41 at 149. Jake Chisolm (165) added six more points for the Falcons with a pin of Jason Clark in 5:45.
Montevallo continued to control the match in the upper weights, as Aiden Knight earned a 7-4 decision over Riley Davis at 174, while Jeffery Tubbs posted a 17-2 technical fall against Nahzir Turner. Cole Sykes and Willie Cox closed out the night with decision victories at 197 and 285, capping a dominant road performance for the Falcons.
