MONTEVALLO, Ala. – A pair of goals from
Lainey Farabaugh and a clean sheet on six saves from
Jolie Cazale led Montevallo to a 3-0 win over UAH on Wednesday night.
After a trio of corner kicks in the first ten minutes of action, Farabaugh found her first of the night to put the Falcons up 1-0 in the 12
th minute with the assist credited to
Karsyn Ross. Just a few minutes later,
Jolie Cazale recorded the first of her six saves before
Katelynn Kott nearly put the Falcons up by a pair but was denied by the UAH keeper. In the 34
th minute,
Ayla Ertekin added to Montevallo's advantage to make the score 2-0 before Cazale's second save of the night sent the game to the break with Montevallo leading.
Just over a minute into the second half, Cazale was forced to stop a third shot before Farabaugh fired a shot on goal in the 52
nd minute. On a UAH corner in the 70
th minute, Cazale added to her save total to keep the clean sheet alive. In the 88
th minute, Farabaugh punctuated Montevallo's victory with her second of the night to give UM its 3-0 win over the Chargers and another three points in the conference standings.
