MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo baseball team rolled to an 11-1 run-rule win over Tuskegee on Tuesday afternoon at Kermit A. Johnson Field.

The Falcons wasted no time getting on the board as McGwire Turner and Jack Fitzgerald opened the first inning with a pair of doubles to give Montevallo a 1-0 advantage.

Montevallo broke things open in the second, plating five runs. Turner and Caleb Karll each delivered RBI singles before Fitzgerald launched his team-leading fourth home run of the season, a three-run shot to left to push the Falcons ahead 6-0 after two frames.

Tuskegee managed its lone run in the top of the fourth, but Montevallo quickly responded with three runs in the bottom half. A hit-by-pitch and consecutive walks brought in runs to extend the lead to 9-1.

Dominic Maldet crossed the plate on a wild pitch in the sixth, and the Falcons enforced the run rule in the seventh when Ian Cartwright hit a sacrifice fly to score Montevallo's 11th run of the contest.

Bodie Vail earned the win in his Falcon debut, allowing just one hit while striking out three across 2.0 innings of work.
