CLINTON, Miss. – The Montevallo baseball team dropped a 4-3 decision to Mississippi College in the final frame of Saturday's series finale.
The Choctaws struck first with a pair of runs in the second inning before Jack Fitzgerald cut the deficit in half with a solo home run in the fourth, his sixth long ball of the season.
Montevallo continued to apply pressure in the fifth. Joel Chandler delivered an RBI single to right field to even the score, and Fitzgerald followed with an RBI double to give the Falcons a 3-2 advantage. Mississippi College answered in the bottom of the sixth to knot the game at 3-3.
The hosts ultimately pushed across the game-winning run in the bottom of the tenth to claim the series finale.
