MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo softball team secured a doubleheader sweep over Spring Hill (7-4, 6-1) on Tuesday.
GAME ONE
Taylor Lloyd earned her ninth win of the season, while pitching her seventh complete game. The senior recorded seven strikeouts in seven innings of work.
Spring Hill jumped out to an early lead, plating three runs in the second and third innings to take an early 3-0 advantage. The Badgers added another run in the top of the fifth to extend the lead to 4-0.
Montevallo looked to get on the board in the bottom of the fifth, as Emma Hawkins and Bentlee Stiner earned back-to-back walks to start the inning. Becca Benton followed that up with her ninth home run of the season to cut the deficit to, 4-3. The Falcons continued to push in the inning, as Kiley Christopher hit an RBI-single to score Kiera Olson. Emma Faulk added a three-run home run to give the Falcons a three-run advantage, 7-4.
Lloyd kept the Badgers quiet the final two innings to secure the Montevallo, 7-4, victory in game one.

GAME TWO
Berkley Mooney earned the start in the circle and held the Badgers scoreless through three innings of work.
Montevallo looked to strike first in game two, as back-to-back hits from Taylor Rogers and Emma Hawkins put runners at second and third. An RBI-single from Bentlee Stiner brought Rogers home to put the Falcons in front, 1-0. Becca Benton hit a sac-fly to score Hawkins and Riley Tyree added a sac-bunt to score Stiner, as the Falcons led, 3-0.
The Falcons continued to push, as Rogers hit her fourth home run of the season to bring a pair of runs, stretching the Montevallo lead to 5-0.
The Falcons added a run in the bottom of the sixth, as a Madison Fargo RBI-groundout scored Makayla Peters to put Montevallo ahead, 6-0.
The Badgers scored one run in the top of the seventh, but the Falcons held on to secure the doubleheader sweep with a, 6-1, victory in game two.
