PULASKI, Tenn. – The Montevallo men's and women's tennis teams picked up wins on Friday afternoon, taking down Tennessee Southern. The Falcon women cruised to a 7-0 win, while the UM men battled to a 4-3 victory over the NAIA No. 23 Firehawks.

The Falcon women set the tone with a doubles sweep. Klara Podskubkova and Claire Jaramba won 6-0 over Maggie Barnett and Maya Balle in the No. 1 match. Sophia Baillos and Latizia Bojara defeated Ali Hamilton and Agota Juozapaviciute, 6-3, at the No. 2 spot, while Anna Nevada Henriksen and Ella De Jesus won by an identical 6-3 scoreline at No. 3.

In singles, UM continued its dominance. Jaramba defeated her opponent in the No. 1 match, 6-0, 6-0. Baillos earned a 7-5, 6-1 win over Maya Balle at No. 2, while Nevada Henriksen won the No. 3 match, 6-1, 6-3. Andrea Cano cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win over Sofi Rueda at No. 4, while Bojara defeated Maggie Barnett at No. 5, 6-0, 6-1. Ella De Jesus won her matchup over Ali Hamilton, 6-4, 6-4, at the No. 6 spot.

On the men's side, Montevallo earned the crucial doubles point behind wins from Samuel Maia and Luiz Gobbi at No. 1 and No. 21 Simon Luigs and Guilherme Gracioli at No. 2. Maia and Gobbi won 6-3 over UT Southern's Brock Hamilton and Quentin Ferron, while Luigs and Gracioli picked up a 7-5 victory.

In singles action, Luigs battled back for a 1-6, 6-0, 10-3 win over Lucca Roveda in the No. 4 match, while Evan Chapuis took down Daiki Ishii 6-4, 6-3, at the No. 5 spot. Linus Sparding defeated Kelton Cantrell 6-2, 6-3 at No. 6 as the Falcons secured the 4-3 victory.
