LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The Montevallo baseball team earned another ranked win on Saturday, downing No. 5 West Alabama, 4-3, in extra innings in the nightcap of a doubleheader. The Tigers claimed the opener, 5-2.
Game 1 | Montevallo 2, No. 5 West Alabama 5
The hosts jumped out to an early lead with a three-run first inning.
Hollon Brock got a run back in the third with a solo home run, his second of the season.
West Alabama responded with a run of its own in the bottom half of the inning, but
Evan Radford continued his strong weekend at the plate with a solo home run in the fourth to trim the deficit to 4-2.
The Tigers added another run in the eighth, and the Falcons could draw no closer as West Alabama secured the 5-2 win.

The Falcons flipped the script in the nightcap, plating three runs in the top of the second inning to take an early lead.
Evan Radford came home to score on a Tiger error before
Dominic Maldet drove in another run with an RBI groundout.
Caleb Karll later crossed the plate on another West Alabama error to push the Falcon advantage to 3-0.
West Alabama answered with three runs across the fifth and sixth innings to even the game at 3-3, and neither team broke through in the seventh as the contest moved to extra innings.
Montevallo delivered in the eighth when
Hollon Brock plated the go-ahead run on a fielder's choice to give the Falcons a 4-3 lead.
The Tigers put the tying run on base in the bottom half, but
Matthew Bullard slammed the door to secure the victory and the Falcons' third top-10 win of the season.
