MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo Acrobatics & Tumbling is set to compete in its first Conference Carolinas tri-meet, as the Falcons will face off against Coker and Francis Marion in Florence, S.C., on Friday.
Montevallo holds a 1-2 overall record, with the Falcons lone win coming against Mars Hill. The Falcons sit at 2-1 in Conference Carolinas action, due to a forfeit win over Emmanuel. The forfeit win counts towards Montevallo's conference record, but not UM's overall NCATA record.
Last time out, the Falcons fell to No. 14 Lander (252.765-233.540) on Mar. 14. Montevallo opened the meet strong with scores of 9.65 in the Compulsory Pyramid and 9.40 in the Compulsory Toss. The Falcons also saw solid identical scores of 9.60 in the Inversion Pyramid and the Open Pyramid. Ally Torres recorded the best tumbling score with an 8.475 in the Open Pass.
Coker (3-1) holds conference wins over Converse, Newberry, and Belmont Abbey, while Francis Marion's lone conference victory is a forfeit win over Emmanuel.
Friday's meet is set to start at 5:00 p.m. CST.
