Montevallo enters the weekend with momentum after winning two straight games against top-10 West Alabama. The Falcons secured a 4-3 extra-inning victory in Saturday's series finale before earning a 6-4 win over the Tigers on Tuesday at Kermit A. Johnson Field.

The Falcon pitching staff was dominant in Tuesday's contest, limiting West Alabama to just five hits and two earned runs. At the plate, Hollon Brock highlighted the effort with a two-run home run, while a three-run seventh inning helped lift Montevallo to the win.

Valdosta State comes into the series with an 11-15 overall record and an 8-7 mark in GSC play. The Blazers are riding a four-game winning streak, including a sweep of Delta State last weekend. Charlie Banks leads VSU offensively, batting .312 with four doubles, eight home runs, and 24 RBIs. As a team, Valdosta State is slashing .260/.390/.385 with 20 home runs this season.

On the mound, the Blazers hold a 6.98 team ERA with 225 strikeouts, while opponents are hitting .308 against them. Junior righthander Garrett Moody (0-2, 6.49 ERA) is expected to start Friday's opener. Righthanders Drake LaRoche (4-1, 3.74 ERA) and Jack Butler (2-0, 4.88 ERA) are projected to start Saturday's doubleheader.
