MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo men's and women's tennis teams dropped matches to nationally ranked Mississippi College on Saturday at the Montevallo Tennis Court Complex. The Falcon women fell 7-0 to the No. 6 Choctaws, while the men were defeated 6-1 by the No. 17-ranked Choctaws.
On the women's side, Klara Podskubkova and Claire Jaramba continued their strong doubles play with a 6-4 victory over the No. 3-ranked duo of Emily Buchanan and Ann Cabot Stockett at No. 1 doubles. However, Montevallo dropped the remaining doubles matches and all singles contests as Mississippi College secured the sweep.
For the men, Christian Bacher and Leonidas Lazarides earned a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles. The Choctaws earned wins at No. 1 and No. 3 to grab the doubles point. In singles play, Guilherme Gracioli battled to a 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 victory to claim the Falcons' lone point of the match.
