YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The Montevallo baseball team dropped a 13-2 decision to No. 14 Young Harris on Tuesday at Zell B. Miller Field.
Young Harris set the tone early with two runs in the first inning and added another in the second to build a 3-0 lead. The Mountain Lions created separation in the fifth, erupting for five runs to take an 8-0 advantage.
Montevallo answered in the sixth when
Jack Fitzgerald launched his team-leading 10th home run of the season, a two-run shot to right field, to cut the deficit to 8-2. Young Harris responded with two runs in the bottom half of the inning and continued to add on with a run in the seventh and two more in the eighth to secure the win.
