LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of Montevallo men's tennis team fell on the road to No. 17 West Alabama by a final score of 6-1 on Tuesday afternoon.
West Alabama secured the early advantage by sweeping the doubles point. The Tigers picked up wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles by identical 6-3 scores, before closing out the point with a victory at No. 3.
In singles play, Montevallo earned a point from
Edgar Dufresne at No. 5 singles. After dropping the opening set, he rallied to earn the three-set victory, 4-6, 6-3, 10-8.
The Falcons fought in several tightly contested matches across the lineup.
Christian Bacher competed at No. 1 singles, while
Simon Luigs pushed his match to three sets at No. 6 before falling. Despite strong efforts across the lineup, the Tigers maintained control to secure the 6-1 win.
UP NEXT: Montevallo will return to action on Tuesday, April 7, traveling to face Columbus State in a non-conference matchup. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m.
