Brock’s Walk-Off Blast Secures Sweep as Falcons Win Fourth Straight GSC Series

MONTEVALLO, Ala. Hollon Brock went 5-for-5 in Saturday's opener and delivered a walk-off three-run homer in the finale to lead Montevallo to a series sweep over Christian Brothers. With the sweep, the Falcons have now won four consecutive GSC series.

Game 1 | Montevallo 10, Christian Brothers 7

Montevallo wasted no time getting on the board in the opener. Ian Cartwright led off with a triple and came home on an RBI double from McGwire Turner. Jack Fitzgerald followed with an RBI double of his own, while Caleb Karll added a sacrifice fly and Hudson Allen capped the early surge with an RBI single to give the Falcons a 4-0 lead.

Turner extended the advantage in the second with an RBI single to make it 5-0. Christian Brothers got on the board with a solo homer in the third, but Turner answered again in the fourth with a two-run shot to push the lead to 7-1.

The Buccaneers chipped away with a homer in the fifth and two runs in the sixth, but Montevallo responded each time. Fitzgerald and Brock delivered RBI singles in the fifth, and Brock added his fifth hit of the game, an RBI single to right, in the seventh.

Christian Brothers threatened late with runs in the eighth and ninth, but Mitchell Rhodes closed the door in the ninth to earn his third save and secure the 10-7 win.
