MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo men's lacrosse secured the 2026 Peach Belt Conference Regular Season title after taking a 20-13 win over Lander on Saturday.
 
Lander struck first after winning the opening faceoff before the Falcons fired a pair of shots on goal and Alex Egorshin posted his first save of the game. After seven minutes of scoreless action, Lander extended its lead to 2-0 before Matthew Boas found Montevallo's first goal of the day at the 6:07 mark. Egorshin tallied three straight saves before Morgan Trites knotted the game at 2-2 with 2:54 left in the first. With just 11 seconds left in the first, Lucas Mullen gave Montevallo its first lead of the day to head into the second with UM on top 3-2.
 
Early in the second, Boas added a second goal with an assist from Ryan Andrews to push the lead to 4-2. Lander answered just two minutes later before Daniel O'leary made the score 5-3 with 8:49 left in the half. The Falcons then fired six shots before Lucas Mullen scored a man-up goal to push UM's lead to 6-3. Michael Howkins scored his first goal of the day to stretch the lead out to 7-3. Lander tallied back-to-back goals to cut the lead down to two before the Falcons ended the half with four-straight shots on goal to hold a 7-5 lead heading into the break.
 
Boas and Mullen tallied a pair of quick goals to open the second half with Egorhsin adding another pair of saves to hold a 9-5 Falcon lead. Aidan Collery got in on the action at the 10:48 mark with his first goal of the afternoon. John Morris assisted a Howkins goal at the 9:36 mark before Cameron Diehl scored an unassisted goal to stretch UM's lead to 12-5 with 7:31 left in the third. Lander then went on a 3-1 run to cut the lead down to 13-8 with just under five minutes left in the quarter. In the final 90 seconds of the third, Boas and Jetty Miller scored back-to-back goals for the Falcons to take 15-8 lead into the fourth.
 
Howkins scored the first goal of the fourth before adding another just two minutes later to answer a Lander goal and stretch the lead to 17-9. Over the next four minutes, Lander score four unanswered goals to cut the lead down for four. With 5:17 left on the clock, Mullen tallied his fourth goal of the day before O'Leary's second goal gave Montevallo a 19-13 lead with 4:03 left. At the 2:29 mark, Samuel Martin scored the final goal of the day to secure Montevallo's 20-13 win and a 4-0 mark in PBC action.
