Falcons Advance to PBC Championship After Win over UAH

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo men's lacrosse moves on to the 2026 Peach Belt Conference Championship after topping fourth-seeded Alabama Huntsville, 19-9, on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Falcons jumped out to an early lead with an unassisted goal from Cameron Diehl before Alex Egorshin tallied a pair of back-to-back saves. Diehl posted his second of the day off an assist from Samuel Martin before Caden Chalut pushed the Falcons to a 3-0 lead at the 10:15 mark. Egorshin added third save before the Falcons posted a 4-0 lead behind Matthew Boas' first of the day. Just 30 seconds later, Collin Schuster gave Montevallo a five-goal lead before Diehl completed a first-quarter hat trick at the 2:06 mark. Mullen scored the final goal of the first to head into the second with a 7-0 Montevallo advantage.
 
Early in the second, Mullen scored on an assist from Ryan Andrews off the opening faceoff before Michael Howkins gave Montevallo a 9-0 lead just 51 second into the second. UAH scored its first goal of the day at the 13:22 mark before Chalut's second goal posted a 10-1 Falcon lead. The game went nine scoreless minutes with a pair of Egorshin saves before Boas ended the skid with 4:37 left in the first half. After UAH's second goal, Diehl scored his fourth of the game to tally a career high. With just 37 seconds left in the half, Aidan Collery gave Montevallo a 13-2 lead on an unassisted goal.
 
The Falcons struck early in the second half with a Martin goal after the opening face-off. Egorshin added another pair of saves before UAH cut the lead down to 14-3 with 11:28 on the clock. Boas found his second goal of the day with 8:52 left off an assist from Mullen to give UM a 15-3 lead. The Chargers scored a pair of unanswered goals before Martin made the score 16-5 with 2:10 left in the third. After a UAH goal in the final minute, Boas scored with just three second left on the clock to send the game to the fourth with a 17-6 Montevallo lead.
 
The Chargers tallied a man-up goal to open the fourth-quarter scoring before adding a second at the 10:17 mark to cut the lead down to 17-8. Devin Virk pushed Montevallo's advantage to 18-8 before UAH found its final goal of the day with 5:46 left in the fourth. Adam Bryant secured Montevallo 19-9 win in the semifinals with his first goal of the afternoon.
