MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo baseball team wraps up the regular season this weekend with a three-game Gulf South Conference series against AUM, highlighted by Alumni Weekend and Senior Day festivities. Friday's doubleheader is set to begin at 3:00 p.m., while Saturday's series finale is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. first pitch.

Montevallo enters the final weekend of the regular season at 15-15 in GSC play and has surged down the stretch, going 16-6 over the past six weeks. The Falcons were included in the initial NCAA South Region rankings released Wednesday, following an 8-5 midweek victory over Columbus State. In that win,
Hollon Brock and
McGwire Turner each homered, while
Mitchell Rhodes secured his fifth save of the season.
AUM comes into the weekend with an 11-34 overall record and a 6-24 mark in conference play after being swept by Delta State last weekend. Offensively, Christopher McNeill and Luke Turner lead the Warhawks with a .331 batting average. McNeill and Kyle Hipp provide the power, pacing the team with seven and eight home runs, respectively, as AUM posts a .276/.357/.402 slash line on the season.
On the mound, the Warhawks carry a 9.21 team ERA and a 2.03 WHIP, along with 286 strikeouts. Right-hander Drew Cashin (4-4, 8.78 ERA) is expected to start Game 1 on Friday, followed by left-hander Huston Wynne (1-6, 7.17 ERA) in the nightcap. Jackson Reed (1-5, 13.07 ERA) is projected to take the ball in Saturday's finale.
