Samuel Martin and Women's Golf
Angelina Oliveri as the Montevallo Players of the Week presented by Jack's for the week of April 28.
Samuel Martin (Men's Lacrosse)
Attacker
Samuel Martin delivered a standout week for the Falcons, playing a key role in Montevallo's run to the 2026 Peach Belt Conference Championship game. Across two games, Martin totaled five goals and three assists for eight points, contributing both as a scorer and a playmaker.
Martin opened the week with an impressive performance in Montevallo's 19-9 semifinal victory over Alabama Huntsville. He recorded two goals and three assists, helping fuel the Falcons' explosive offense that produced 19 goals. Martin was instrumental in building Montevallo's early lead, assisting on multiple first half scores and adding a goal early in the second half to maintain momentum.
In the Peach Belt Conference Championship game against Flagler, Martin led the Falcons' attack with three goals. He scored twice in the second quarter to extend Montevallo's lead and add a crucial late goal in the fourth quarter to bring the Falcons within striking distance.
Angelina Oliveri (Women's Golf)
Angelina Oliveri led Montevallo women's golf to a third-place finish at the 2026 Gulf South Conference Championship, earning a spot on the GSC All-Tournament Team with a third-place individual finish.
Oliveri posted a three-round score of seven over par, highlighted by back-to-back even par rounds of 72 in the second and third rounds. After opening the tournament with a 79 (+7), she climbed the leader board with a strong second round that featured four birdies, the most in the field that round.
She closed the tournament with another even-par performance, continuing her consistent play to secure a top three finish. Oliveri's performance helped propel the Falcons to one of their best team finishes in recent years, as Montevallo recorded a 47 over total across the three rounds. Her performance was a key factor in both her individual success and the team's overall performance.
