HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Montevallo's Alex Egorshin has been named the Peach Belt Conference Male Scholar Athlete of the Year after earning a B.S. in Chemistry with a 4.0 cumulative GPA.

The Hoover, Ala. native has twice been named PBC Elite 18 award winner in each of the last two seasons while earning a University of Montevallo Senior Elite award as one of the top students in his department. Egorshin has also been named to the Montevallo President's List every semester in his four-year academic career.
 
Egorshin's playing career featured four yearly awards with a Freshman of the Year award in 2023, Defenseman of the Year in 2024, and a pair of Goalkeeper of the Year awards in 2025 and 2026. The four-year goalkeeper was twice named United State Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-American while also earning three USILA All-Region awards. In his career, Egorshin posted a save percentage of .581 while allowing just 11.575 goals per game with a total of 921 saves in his 3,441 minutes in goal.
 
The award is the highest individual honors given to student-athletes by the conference and are selected by the league's Faculty Athletics Representatives.
