MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The College Sport Communicators has announced its Men's and Women's Academic At-Large All-District Teams with 12 Falcons earning the academic honor.

Across the five Montevallo programs mentioned in the release, Wrestling, Women's Golf and Women's Lacrosse led the way with three selections each while Men's Lacrosse received a pair and Men's Golf saw one selection.

Max Stedeford earned Academic All-District honors following a dominant season on the mat for the Falcons. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native compiled a 26-6 overall record, including an 11-1 mark in dual competition, and led the team with nine technical falls. In addition to his success on the mat, Stedeford maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA while working toward his Master of Business Administration degree. He also garnered All-Conference Carolinas Second Team honors and was recognized as an NWCA Scholar All-American.
Carson Freeman continued his successful career at Montevallo during his junior season, posting 23 victories and qualifying for the NCAA Championships at 157 pounds while maintaining a 3.78 cumulative GPA as a management major. The Alabaster, Alabama native secured a third-place finish at the NCAA Super Region II Tournament to earn his berth at nationals. In addition to his postseason success, Freeman was named All-Conference Carolinas Third Team, earned NWCA Scholar All-American recognition, and was selected to the Conference Carolinas All-Academic Team.
Willie Cox received Academic All-District honors after an impressive sophomore campaign as Montevallo's starter at 285 pounds. The exercise and nutrition science major finished the season with a 26-12 overall record, including a 10-4 mark in duals, while collecting two victories over nationally ranked opponents. He also recorded five tournament placements during the season and earned All-Conference Carolinas Second Team honors alongside NWCA Scholar All-American recognition.
Alex Egorshin earned his degree in Chemistry with a cumulative GPA of 4.0 while leading the Falcons to the Peach Belt Conference regular season title in goal. The senior keeper posted a total of 269 saves for an average of 15.8 per game to rank second among the league's leaders. Egorshin allowed just 11.64 goals per game in a total of 922 minutes of action while earning the 2026 PBC Goalkeeper of the Year and a First Team All-PBC selection.
Brandon Shaffner was named Academic All-District after posting a 4.00 GPA in pursuit of his Exercise and Nutrition Science degree. Shaffner earned First Team All-PBC honors after posting a conference-leading .640 faceoff win percentage while adding a league-high 78 ground balls on the season. The Louisville, Ky. native owns seven of the top 10 single game marks for ground balls and has posted a season-high 10 ground balls twice during 2026.
Bentley Van Pelt tallied his Academic All-District award after earning a 3.84 cumulative GPA as a Finance major. The sophomore posted an adjusted scoring average of 76.2 through 18 rounds in six events in his second year in the program. The McDavid, Fla. native posted a season-best finish of seventh at the Montevallo Invitational with a score of six-over while adding a season-low score of even par at the Dunning Invitational for a 10
th-place finish.
Amber Lynch has earned a 3.75 cumulative GPA in pursuit of her Master of Business Administration as a graduate student. The Louisville, Ky. native appeared in all 15 games for the Falcons while scoring a total of seven points on five goals and two assists while adding a total of 11 draw controls and five ground balls. Lynch set a season-high three goals in Montevallo's meeting with Emmanuel on Feb. 21.
Chloe Norman, a senior Data Analytics major, earned her degree with a 3.77 cumulative GPA to be named Academic All-District. Norman tallied a total of 17 points on the season with 10 goals and seven assists while appearing in all 15 games with six starts in 2026. The Land O'Lakes, Fla. native set a season-high four points with one goal and three assists in the Falcons' win over Virginia State on March 16.
Claire Withington earned her Academic All-District distinction with a 4.0 GPA in pursuit of her chemistry degree as a four-year Falcon. Withington ranked second on the team with 34 points on the season after scoring 26 goals and adding eight assists in her 14 starts. Withington added a total of eight draw controls, nine ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers in her senior campaign.
Ellery Shearer was named Academic All-District after earning a 3.90 cumulative GPA as an Art major. In her junior season, Shearer led Montevallo with a total of 37 points on 32 goals and five assists while also earning a 2026 Second Team All-GSC selection. The junior attacker also tallied a total of 17 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers on the season.
Sophomore
Kate Cost was named Academic All-District after earning a 3.89 GPA in pursuit of her Psychology degree. Cost's season saw an adjusted scoring average of 69.3 across five events and 14 rounds. Cost set a season-low score of 12-over at the LeeAnn Noble Memorial on Oct. 13-14.
Francesca De Roover earned the Academic All-District distinction after posting a 3.97 cumulative GPA in pursuit of her Finance degree. In her senior season, De Roover posting a 76.3 adjusted scoring average across eight events and 23 rounds. The senior won the Montevallo Invitational with a score of 10-over while posting a season-low score of five-over at the LeeAnn Noble Memorial.
