BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Montevallo men's golf's Miles Jackson has been named Gulf South Conference Player of the Week after opening the season with his first career individual title.

After a two-hole playoff, Jackson's first victory saw the sophomore post an overall score of three-under for the three-round event. Jackson opened the tournament with a two-under 69 in the first 18 holes with four birdies. Jackson added an even par round two with a pair of birdies to sit in T-1^st after the first two rounds. The sophomore closed the week with a one-under 70 in the final round before taking the individual title after a two-hole playoff.
 
Jackson and the Falcons head to West Point, Miss. on Sept. 20-22 to compete in the Dunning Invitational.
