DAHLONEGA, Ga. – Montevallo's comeback effort on the road at No. 17 North Georgia falls short in a 3-2 loss for the Falcons' first defeat of the season.
Montevallo nearly drew first blood with an
Isabel Dillehay shot on goal in the second minute but a UNG save denied the senior. After four shots from Montevallo, UNG broke the ice to take a 1-0 lead at the 22:45 mark. In the final two minutes of the half,
Karsyn Ross fired a second UM shot on goal but another save left Montevallo trailing 1-0 heading into the half.
Out of the break, the Nighthawks scored back-to-back goals just four minutes apart to leave Montevallo in a 3-0 hole in the 53

Ciara Duff kept Montevallo in it with a pair of saves in the second half before
Ayla Ertekin finally got UM on the board in the 79
th minute. Just five minutes later, Ertekin used an assist from
Hannah York to cut the lead down to 3-2 with seven minutes to go. Montevallo saw another pair of scoring chances but would eventually fall against a ranked opponent on the road.
