GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – The University of
Montevallo men's golf team finished 11th in a field of 20
teams at the Tusculum Invitational. The Falcons were the only Peach
Belt Conference team at the event but finished ahead of three
Southeast Region teams including King, Brevard and Mars Hill.
Tusculum won the event while Lincoln Memorial finished three
strokes back in second. UM competed with just four golfers so every
score counted throughout the tournament. The Falcons were led by
junior Aaron Ebert (Huron, Ohio/St. Mary's Central
Catholic) who finished tied for 19th overall with a
two-round score of 147 just five over par.
Junior Gonzalo Gambertoglio (Cordoba, Argentina/Instituto
General San Martin) was just one stroke back from Ebert
with a 148. Gambertoglio finished tied for 24th overall. Sophomore
Mariano Lepori (Posadas, Argentina) tied for
54th overall with a score of 153 while freshman Sindre
Rambjor (Nittedal, Norway/Lillestrom VGS) rounded out
the team with a 59th-place finish and a score of 154.
The Falcons will return to action March 28-29 at the Lander
Bearcat Invitational in Greenwood, South Carolina.
