HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons opened the game with a 6-3 run following a trio of early baskets by junior Courtney McKenzie. Auburn-Montgomery responded with a 14-6 run, capped with a jumper by Jatoria Carter, which gave the Warhawks a 17-12 lead with 2:29 remaining in the first period. Auburn-Montgomery led 19-17 at the end of the period.
The largest lead by either team in the second period was a two-point lead for the Falcons. A layup by McKenzie in the final moments sent Montevallo into the locker room at halftime with a 34-32 advantage.
Auburn-Montgomery opened the second half with a 10-2 run, capped with a layup by Catoria with 3:41 remaining in the third period to give the Warhawks a 42-36 lead. Auburn-Montgomery led by as many as nine points in the period following a pair of free throws by Catoria with 2:28 left, which gave the Warhawks a 46-37 advantage.
The Falcons ended the third period with a 3-0 run after a free throw by senior Katherine Goldsby and a basket by McKenzie trimmed the deficit to 46-40.
The Warhawks pushed their lead to 50-43 following a free throw by Reggotta Craig with 8:55 remaining in the game. A 3-pointer by Carter with 5:18 left in the fourth period gave Auburn-Montgomery a 55-46 lead before the Warhawks went on a four minute scoring drought late in the game.
Montevallo made one late push in the final minute with layups by freshman Ashley Dunstan and McKenzie before a 3-pointer by Jazmine Stubblefield cut the Auburn-Montgomery lead to 57-56 with one second remaining in the game. The Warhawks were able to inbound the ball to Keyonda Mason, who hit 1-of-2 free throws with 0.4 seconds left to close out the win for Auburn-Montgomery.

Montevallo held an impressive 44-28 advantage on the boards against the Warhawks, including a 15-6 advantage in offensive rebounds.
BEYOND THE NUMBERS
Junior Courtney McKenzie registered the Falcons' first double-double of the season with career-high 16 points and a career-best 13 rebounds against the Warhawks.
Freshman Ashley Dunstan recorded a career-high eight rebounds and a career-best six assists while contributing six points against Auburn-Montgomery.
