HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons resumed Peach Belt Conference play with a three-game series with the Georgia College Bobcats. Montevallo's offense struggled in the opening game of the series as the Bobcats ran away with a 20-0 victory.
Montevallo gave up five runs in the first frame as Georgia College started the game red hot. After the first frame, the Bobcats led the Falcons 5-0.
The Bobcats really broke the game open with nine runs scored over a span of two innings. Georgia College plated six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and then brought home a trio of runs in the fifth inning to lead the Falcons 15-0.
Georgia College plated five more runs in the game to shut out the Falcons 20-0.
Jamison Roney (2-1) got the start for the Falcons and tossed 3 1/3 innings. Roney allowed 10 runs on 12 hits and struck out one batter.
Jesse Ellefson entered the game in relief and threw 4 2/3 innings and gave up 10 runs on 11 hits. Ellefson also struck out two batters and walked six.

The Falcons and the Bobcats will play a doubleheader on Saturday, March 11th to wrap up the series. The first game of the doubleheader will begin at 12:00 pm CT with game two starting shortly after the conclusion of the first game.
