HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
In the first of two games on the day, the Falcons got off to a quick start and took an early 4-0 lead against the Golden Bears. Sebastian Samuels got the scoring started with a three-run home run in the first followed shortly after by a Dominic DeVille solo shot.
Miles got a run back in the top of the second on a solo home run, and cut the deficit even further with another home run to make it 4-2.
The Falcons extended the lead with a five-run third inning that included Samuels second home run of the day, and RBI doubles from Collin Dupree, Chad Wagner, and Matthew Furuto to make the lead 9-2.
The Falcons continued to assert their dominance adding six more runs in the fourth making the lead 15-2.
The Golden Bears added three in the fifth to make it a 15-5 game.
The Falcons answered Miles in the bottom of the fifth adding five more to make it 20-5.
Jake Posey (1-0) got the start for the Falcons in game one of the doubleheader and pitched four innings and surrendered four runs on five hits.
Seth Johnson relieved Posey in the fifth and he was later relieved by Tanner Koch to end the inning .
Zach Thompson came in and produced two scoreless innings in his second college appearance.
Game 2
Miles jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first after a lead off home run and a RBI single.
The Falcons cut the lead to one after Samuels doubled home Daniel Pardo and then tied the game on a Ryan Brooks home run in the second.
The Falcons took a commanding lead with a six-run third inning aided by a three-run home run from Jacob Whiting.Â
Miles added their third run of the day in the fourth on an RBI double .
The Falcons stamped out any hope of a comeback with a six-run fourth inning to make it 14-3.
Drew Mullinax (2-0) got the start and allowed three runs on five hits picking up his second win of the year.

The Falcons take on Columbus St. for a three game set at Kermit A. Johnson field in a critical conference matchup. Game are scheduled for Friday March 24th at 7:00 pm CT, Saturday March 25th at 3:00 pm CT, and Sunday March 26th 1:00 pm CT.
