MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women's basketball team was defeated at home 90-65 by Shorter University in Gulf South Conference play.
The Falcons are now 2-13 on the season and 0-7 in conference play.
Montevallo struggled in the first half to shoot effectively from the field. The Falcons attempted 28 shots in the opening half but were only able to get six of them to fall. In the first period, Montevallo was held to five points, their lowest for points scored in a period this season.
Montevallo entered halftime down 38-21 to the visiting Hawks.
In the second half, Montevallo came out and shot the ball more effectively. The Falcons went 14-of-32 against the Hawks for a 43 percent shooting percentage in the second half. However, it was not enough as the hot shooting Hawks cruised to a 95-60 victory.
De'Asia Marsh led the team in both points scored and rebounds in tonight's game. Marsh netted 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the loss to the Hawks.
