Falcons Claim Rubber Match in 5-2 Victory over Christian Brothers

MONTEVALLO HIGHLIGHTS
  • Montevallo won their first conference series of the year.  
  • Montevallo scored three runs in the second inning to start the scoring on a Jason Cryar single, and a Colin Dupree two RBI double.
  • Steven Skolarz Jr. got the start for the Falcons and went eight strong innings and struck out 11 batters while only allowing four hits.
  • Collin Dupree had a big day at the plate going 2-for-4 with two RBI on a double in the third inning.
KEY PLAYS
  • Sebastian Samuels and Ryan Brooks each had solo homers in the fifth inning to give the Falcons a 5-0 lead in the third.
  • Kale Lattore entered in the ninth inning and struck out two batters on his way to his third save of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Jason Cryar singled in Jared Nixon to open the scoring for the Falcons in the second inning
  • Collin Dupree doubled home Blake Devine and Cryar to extend the lead to three runs in the second inning.
  • Sebastian Samuels and Ryan Brooks each had solo homer runs in the fifth inning to give the Falcons a 5-0 lead in the third inning.
  • The Buccaneers scored two unearned runs after an error and a Jaime Soto single to make the game 5-2 in the seventh inning.
  • Kale Lattore struck out two batters in the ninth inning to secure the Falcons 10th win of the season.
