Box Score AMERICUS, Ga. – The University of Montevallo men's tennis team defeated Georgia Southwestern 7-2 in a non-conference match Feb. 28.
The Falcons improved to 7-1 on the season with the victory.
Freshman Tanguy David remained undefeated in his collegiate career following a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Johnathan Martin of Georgia Southwestern in the No. 5 singles' match.
Freshman Petter Dahlin fell to the Hurricanes' Steve Blythe 6-7, 6-2, 10-6 in the No. 1 singles' match. Sophomore Jan Fraederich defeated Beau Millwood of Georgia Southwestern 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 2 singles' match.
Freshman Daniel Del Val took down the Hurricanes' Ignacio Garcia 6-3, 7-5 in the No. 3 singles' match. Freshman Sergi Martinez topped Luke Enfano of Georgia Southwestern 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 4 singles' match.
Freshman Gavin Salton defeated the Hurricanes' Justin Ralston 6-2, 7-5 in the No. 6 singles' match.
Freshman James Bloomer and Dahlin improved to 9-1 on the season in doubles' play with a 8-4 win over Millwood and Garcia in the No. 2 doubles' match.
Del Val fell and Martinez fell to Blythe and Martin 8-0 in the No. 1 doubles' match. Freshmen Brecht Van Buggenhout and Milan Ludlage topped Enfano and Ralston 8-1 in the No. 3 doubles' match.
The Falcons will return to action Thursday, March 8 with a Gulf South Conference match against UAH. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
