Montevallo, Ala. – University of Montevallo student athletes Savannah Roys and Marisa Snodgrass both received weekly honors from the Gulf South Conference offices in Birmingham, Alabama this week.
Savannah Roys was named the GSC offensive volleyball player of the week. The sophomore had 10.44 assists per set while helping lead the Falcons to a .268 hitting percentage. Roys also contributed six kills of her own with a .357 hitting percentage, helping the Falcons to three, three-set sweep victories.
Freshman Marisa Snodgrass of women's basketball was named the GSC freshman of the week. The guard out of Hazel Green, Alabama started the first two games of the season and produced for the team immediately. Snodgrass averaged 34 minutes per game and leads the team in assists with 5.0. She also averaged 7.5 points per game and 3.5 rebounds per game.
