INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – University of Montevallo sophomore
Thomas Vaesen was named the Offensive Player of the Week by the Great Lakes Valley Conference following the Falcons' 24-18 win against Mars Hill University.
The Victoria, British Columbia native recorded 14 points, including 11 goals and three assists, in the Falcons' 24-18 victory.
Vaesen's 11 goals rank him second all-time in the NCAA Division II record book for goals in a single match, and his 14 points tied for third all-time in the record book for a single match.
Vaesen's career-highs in goals and points in a single match also set program records.
This is the first time Vaesen has been named Player of the Week by the GLVC.
Vaesen and the Falcons will return to action Thursday, Feb. 14 with a match on the road at Embry Riddle University in Daytona, Florida.
