GAME 1 INFORMATION

MONTEVALLO HIGHLIGHTS
  • Senior Jason Cryar finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a home run and a double while driving in three runs and scoring two runs.
  • Senior Khari Anderson finished 3-for-5 at the plate with a double while driving in one run and scoring two runs.
  • Freshman Max Garvey went 3-for-5 at the plate and drove in two runs in the victory.
  • Junior Sebastian Samuels finished 2-for-5 at the plate while driving in one run and scoring two runs.
  • Freshman Ty Wooton went 2-for-4 at the plate and drove in one run.
  • Senior Tyler Krabbe went 1-for-4 at the plate and drove in one run.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Falcons took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on a RBI double to left-center field by senior Jason Cryar.
  • Montevallo added four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning on a two-run single by freshman Max Garvey and a RBI singles by seniors Khari Anderson and Tyler Krabbe to push its lead to 5-0.
  • A RBI single by freshman Ty Wooton pushed the Falcons' lead to 6-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning.
  • West Alabama scored its first run on a solo home run by Jake Hartman in the top of the sixth inning to trim the Falcons' lead to 6-1.
  • Cryar blasted a solo shot in the bottom of the sixth inning to push the Falcons' lead to 7-1.
  • The Tigers cut the Falcons' lead to 7-2 with a RBI single by Gavin Rogers in the top of the seventh inning.
  • Montevallo pushed its lead to 9-2 in the bottom of the eighth inning when Cryar reached on an error by the Tigers and junior Sebastian Samuels followed with a RBI single.
  • The Tigers rallied with four runs in the top of the ninth inning, highlighted with a two-run single by Hartman, before junior Chandler Ingram recorded the final two outs to preserve the win for the Falcons.

  • Freshman Ty Wooton went 1-for-2 at the plate and scored one run in the win.
  • Junior Jake Morris scored one run and drove in one run, while senior Tyler Krabbe scored one run in the victory.
  • Junior Brady Schnarr finished just two outs shy of a complete game and allowed four earned runs with seven strikeouts and one walk in 6 1/3 innings on the mound.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Montevallo took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning following back-to-back solo home runs by juniors Sebastian Samuels and Sam Stewart with one out in the frame.
  • The Falcons plated four runs on a RBI single by senior Jason Cyar and a three-run homer by Samuels, his second in the game, to push their lead to 6-0 in the bottom of the third inning.
  • Cryar plated another run with his RBI single in the bottom of the fourth inning to push the Falcons' lead to 7-0.
  • Montevallo scored three more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, with a costly two-run error by the Tigers coming before a RBI sacrifice fly by junior Jake Morris, which pushed the Falcons' lead to 10-0.
  • West Alabama plated its lone runs in the game on a two-run single by J.D. Roberts and a two-run double by Taylor Clemmons in the top of the seventh inning.
UP NEXT

The Falcons and the Tigers will continue the Gulf South Conference series with the third and final game in the series set for Monday, March 11 at 12 p.m. at Kermit A. Johnson Field.
