Falcons swept by West Alabama in conference match

Box Score MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo men's tennis team fell to visiting University of West Alabama 7-0 in a Gulf South Conference match March 12.

The Falcons won the No. 2 doubles' match when sophomores Tanguy David and Georg Trompler defeated Henrik Sinkko and Ilari Vesanen of West Alabama 6-2.

The Tigers earned the doubles' point, however, after claiming wins in the No. 1 doubles' match and No. 3 doubles' match.
Montevallo pushed two of the singles' matches into a tiebreaking set.

Julius Kaverinen of West Alabama topped sophomore Peter Dahlin 6-0, 5-7, 2-10 in the No. 1 singles' match. Freshman Tobias Rach fell to the Tigers' Noah Johansen 2-6, 6-3, 3-10 in the No. 6 singles' match.

Montevallo will return to action Saturday, March 16 with a Gulf South Conference match on the road at Shorter University at 12 p.m.
