Falcons fall to nationally-ranked Warhawks 5-2 in conference play

Box Score MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo men's tennis team fell to nationally-ranked Auburn-Montgomery 5-2 in a Gulf South Conference match April 24.

The Falcons dropped to 9-8 overall and 4-5 in conference play following the loss to the Warhawks, who entered the match ranked No. 26 nationally in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) NCAA Division II rankings.

Sophomore Georg Trompler, who was ranked No. 22 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) NCAA Division II singles' rankings, defeated No. 25 Alvaro Terron of Auburn-Montgomery 6-2, 6-4 in the No 1 singles' match.

Sophomore Tanguy David topped the Warhawks' Francisco Jimenez 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 3 singles' match.

The Falcons will return to action Friday, April 26 in their final regular season Gulf South Conference match against Delta State University.
