Box Score MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo men's tennis team defeated visiting Delta State University 4-3 in its final regular season match in Gulf South Conference play April 26.
The Falcons improved to 10-8 overall and 5-5 in Gulf South Conference play with the victory.
Freshman
Dylan Valentine clinched the match for the Falcons with a 3-6, 7-5, 6-1 win over Timo Schmitz of Delta State in the No. 6 singles' match.
Sophomore
Tanguy David topped Mason Vice of Delta State 6-1, 7-6 in the No. 3 singles' match.
Sophomore
Daniel Del Val defeated Trey Seymour of Delta State 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 in the No. 4 singles' match.
The Falcons secured the doubles' point after claiming two of the three doubles' matches.

Petter Dahlin topped Seymour and Emile Le Terrier 7-6 in the No. 1 doubles' match, while David and sophomore
Georg Trompler defeated Schmitz and Leo De Sousa of Delta State 6-1 in the No. 2 doubles' match.
The Falcons earned the No. 5 seed in the upcoming Gulf South Conference Tournament and will face the No. 4 seed, Lee University, in the quarterfinals Thursday, May 2 in Montgomery, Alabama.
